Buy Your Glass Conservatory Roof with Confidence, Knowing You’re Protected

Our Glass Conservatory Roofs Built to Last

The Ultraframe Glass Roof is designed to suit the geographic area in which it will be situated. The snow that accumulates on your roof will apply additional pressure to its frames and foundations, and wind can have a great impact.

Our unique software calculates the most extreme wind and snow loads for your postcode and engineers your roof to withstand these conditions, which means your installation will be able to cope with changes caused by the environment.

The structural integrity of the Glass Roof is achieved in part through rigorous wind testing. Wintech subjects our systems to a range of conditions to see how they will perform when exposed to certain weather conditions, such as winds of up to 130mph.

Buy From Us With Complete Confidence

You may be starting fresh or having a glass conservatory roof replacement. Our Glass Roof will be delivered to the site with a Certificate of Authenticity that confirms your purchase is genuine. This will give you, and any future vendor, total peace of mind.

Fully Tested and Accredited Roof Systems

Accreditation and testing form the cornerstone of our business. Although the British Board of Agrement (BBA) approves our systems, we conduct independent tests in house – which means you’ll be able to buy your glass conservatory roof with confidence.

Three Reasons to Choose the Glass Roof

Thermally Efficient Top Caps

Your new glass conservatory roof will keep you warm, even during inclement weather. This is thanks to the clever chambered top caps included as standard, which provide structural strength and prevent unnecessary heat loss.

The honeycomb centre in the chambered top caps helps ensure structural rigidity and stops warm air escaping through the bars. Twin wall chambered tops caps further contribute to thermal efficiency and prevent the build up of condensation.

The chambered nature of the top caps acts as a security measure too, because they are impossible to remove – unlike other 'single skin' cappings. If you’re looking for a safe glass conservatory roof, choose the Glass Roof.

Let in the Air with Trickle Vents

Trickle vents are included as standard with the Ultraframe Glass Roof conservatory roof. The purpose of this feature is to induct a continual flow of air into your room to prevent moisture accumulating, while also regulating temperature – which will be important on hot summer days when your room could overheat.

The trickle vents are built into the ridge of the Glass Roof, but can also be included at eaves level if required. They can be opened or closed manually, depending on your requirements. When activated, warm moist air will filter naturally outside, instead of landing on a warm surface where it could turn into condensation.

Patented Speedlocks

The best thing about our Glass Roof is the unique Speedlock system at each radius end. Everything clicks into place easily, and because each clip can be adjusted to account for slight tolerances in pitch, every glazing bar fits snugly and securely. This, combined with the three layers of storm shield protection in the Speedlock hood, means the glass roof is secure, structurally sound and completely leak proof.

A Glass Conservatory Roof That Performs on Every Level

No Structural Issues

That’s because the Glass Roof attaches to the ridge by way of our innovate Speedlock system, which permits the introduction of up to 15 bars. This feature provides better resistance to issues like compression and torsion to deliver superior performance.

An Adjustable Pitch

Holding the glass in your roof in place is easy. This is thanks to our robustly designed glazing stops, which are stronger than any other product available on the market. Additionally, because the pitch of the Glass Roof can be adjusted from between 2.5-40.9°, it can be tailored to suit the scope of your project.

Customised Design

Adding a touch of style to your new room will be easy; you’ll be able to select from 4 decorative cornices and a range of painted aluminium or foiled colours. You can also add finishes, crestings, super insulated columns and pelmets to further personalise your glass conservatory roof.

Glass Roof Conservatory FAQ's

Yes, by adding a conservatory to your home you are adding extra living space, and so this will certainly add value to your home. The amount of value a conservatory will add to your home depends on various factors including the quality of the products used, the size of the conservatory, and how well it complements your home.

The time to build a conservatory will depend on a number of factors including the ground and the foundations needed, the size of the conservatory, and the style of the conservatory. Your Ultraframe installer will always give you a guideline of how long it should take to build your conservatory when they provide a quote.

Yes you can put a kitchen into a conservatory but you would need to mention this to your installer during the design process to ensure that adequate ventilation is included in the design. This is to allow any moisture vapour from cooking to escape to the outdoors and ensure that condensation does not occur.

It is difficult to say whether a conservatory is cheaper than an extension as there are many options for both an extension and a conservatory. For instance you may choose an extension with a small lantern roof, or a conservatory with a solid tiled roof and the price could be very similar.

Yes you can remove the doors between your home and your conservatory but doing this means that you will need Building Regulation approval.

There are 4 main steps to building a conservatory: 1. Preparation of the foundations and base. 2. The building of any brickwork such as dwarf walls or brick pillars. 3. Installation of the windows and doors. 4. Installation of the roof.

An orangery has a solid flat roof with one or more glazed lantern roofs, while a conservatory roof is pitched and can be glazed with glass, polycarbonate, solid panels, or a solid tiled roof. Orangeries often feature brick columns, although these can also be used on a conservatory. The roof is the key feature that sets apart an orangery from a conservatory.

Conservatories often fall under Permitted Development, which means you can build them without Planning Permission. As long as the conservatory doesn't exceed four metres in height and is no higher than your home's roof you should be able to build it without Planning Permission but you should always check with your local building control officer at the local council for the rules in your area.

We offer conservatories in all of the standard window colours so that they will match the windows on your home. We can also create conservatories in ANY colour so if you want something a bit different, just ask.

The bars on an Ultraframe conservatory roof are made from aluminium with uPVC  or Aluminium claddings. The roof can be glazed with either glass, solid panels or a solid roof system with tiles and glass. Some older  conservatories may be glazed with a plastic sheeting material called polycarbonate.

Glass conservatory roofs are very good if you are looking to enhance your living space with plenty of natural light and enjoy views of the sky above. There are many choices of high performance glazing that can be used in glass conservatory roofs to ensure thermal efficiency, as well as provide other benefits such as self cleaning.

Conservatory roof blinds do provide shade but of course, they also block out the views of the sky above and natural light. A better alternative to conservatory roof blinds is to ensure that your roof is glazed with high performance glass that will control the amount of solar heat entering the room.

Conservatory roof insulation does not work as it creates a room that may be warmer in winter, but that in summer will be unbearably hot. Conservatory roof insulation is also very damaging to the conservatory structure which could potentially compromise its stability and cause leaks.

It is not safe to stand directly on a conservatory roof. However, if you need to access it to carry out maintenance, special ladders can be hired to allow you to do so safely.

Ultraframe conservatory roofs are the strongest on the market - in fact every one is designed for the specific postcode location where it will be installed to ensure it is strong enough to withstand the weather at that location.

Yes, a conservatory will always need foundations to create a solid base structure on which to build the conservatory and ensure it is structurally sound.

How long a conservatory will last depends on many factors such as the quality of the installation and the products used. Factors that may indicate that it's time to think about upgrading or replacing your conservatory include leaking, condensation, damage, and big variations in temperature throughout the year.

The guarantee on your conservatory will be provided by your installation company and so the length of the guarantee varies from company to company. It is important to ensure that you have an insurance backed guarantee as this will protect you in the event of having a problem with your conservatory and your installer has ceased trading.

Yes you can put a hot tub into a conservatory but you would need to mention this to your installer during the design process to ensure that adequate ventilation is included in the design to allow any moisture vapour to escape to the outdoors.

In order to pass Building Regulations, all conservatories over 2.5m wide will need a glass U Value of at least 1.2.

Smaller conservatories will need glass to be specified with a U Value of at least 1.0.

Your installer will be able to provide the exact U Value of your Ultraframe Glass Roof.
