Ultraframe Modern Orangery

THE CHALLENGE

Having moved into their home 17 months ago, the Petherick family were keen to update their home and had used Bude Windows & Conservatories to install new windows throughout. Having been delighted with the advice and customer service they received during the work, they had no hesitation in going back to the company when they decided to install an orangery onto the back of their home, as Mrs Petherick explained:

“We moved into our new home and had set about renovating it with new windows being one of the first projects. We then decided that it would be great to have some open plan living space on the back of our home and contacted Bude Windows & Conservatories again who had done our windows as they had been so helpful and efficient. They explained the many options of Ultraframe conservatories and extensions that were available to us and we settled on a beautiful orangery with 2 sets of bi-fold doors which is open plan to our kitchen/dining/living area.”

The anthracite grey orangery features the very latest in building and roofing technology, with an Ultrasky roof, super-insulated columns and an internal pelmet. The Ultrasky roof is a stunning contemporary glazed roof which boasts 25% fewer bars than other glazed roofs to ensure a clean, modern look and maximum light into the room before.

Thanks to the Ultrasky roof’s integrated structural beam, projects such as this which include large spans of bi-fold doors can be completed without the need for any additional steel lintels or structural goalposts.

The striking super-insulated columns featuring flat infill panels not only provide a chunky, contemporary look to the overall structure, but they are also 5 times more thermally efficient than brick pillars, ensuring the ultimate in thermal efficiency for a room which can be enjoyed all year round – just like any other room in your home.

It’s actually changed the way we live because we can all be in the same area now that we have an open plan living space and we spend so much more time sitting together in the new conservatory to relax, read the paper and admire what we have done!
