Livinroof - the best of both!
On a small exclusive development outside Leamington Spa, the owners of one of the homes were keen to update their current rosewood PVCu p-shape conservatory. They contacted Heart of England, who had built the original conservatory 13 years ago, for advice on transforming their conservatory and to discuss design options.
After an initial meeting, a new design was created and it was decided that Livinroof was the perfect fit because it met the homeowner’s wish for a roof that would allow plenty of light into the room below. The family were able to decide exactly where they wanted the glass panels positioned in the roof to allow light where they needed it. Livinroof was also ideal because the system is flexible enough to work on any shape or size of project.
To create the modern new rectangular extension, the original base (p-shape) was extended, the dwarf walls taken down, and a new full-height wall was built to the right elevation. This new design meant that floor to ceiling windows and doors were possible to further flood the interior with light.
The stunning new extension is finished in anthracite grey and features the very latest in building and roofing technology – a Livinroof with curved cornice and a mix of French and bi-folding doors in aluminium. With Livinroof, you no longer have to choose between a solid or glass conservatory roof as it combines the best elements of both. Thanks to Livinroof's design it is robust but stylish, constructed from aluminium or insulated composite external panels and insulation. The urban grey panels on Livinroof add that all-important contemporary wow factor to any home.
Thanks to the integrated structural support from Ultraframe, projects such as this, which include large spans of bi-fold doors, can be completed without the need for additional steel lintels which hugely add to the cost of a project. Within the internal soffits, Heart of England were able to install LED downlights and also added lighting points to the L shaped ridge.
Nigel Manning from Heart of England, commented: “It’s made a great open plan area and even though the original conservatory was pretty sizeable, this building goes to a different level. Livinroof was chosen because of the configuration options for the glass panels in the roof and it has brought lots of light into the kitchen, dining and living areas below. It’s also changed the way my customers live because they can all be in the same area now that they have a huge open-plan living space. I’m delighted that they once again chose Heart of England, 13 years after handing over the original project, with our superior installation standards and quality finish which we have maintained over the years. It was a pleasure to carry out the work and my customers are very happy with the end result.”
