Changing of the Guard at GGF

After an incredible 24 years at the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF), I am sad to report that Deputy Chief Executive, Ian Chisholm, is retiring his post.
Having started out his GGF career as Technical Officer, Ian soon worked his way up the ranks to become Director of Home Improvements, before taking up his final post as Deputy Chief Executive.
During his time at the leading glazing organisation, Ian has played a significant part in tackling the major issues faced by the industry, most recently of which was the challenging economic climate.
And on that note I can announce that I will also be stepping down from my role as Chair of the GGF Conservatory Association.
When I first joined Ultraframe in 1995, it wasn’t long before I was contacted by the GGF who was looking for a member to take over the Chairmanship of the Conservatory Association.
I actually met Ian during my very first week at Ultraframe and since that day I have worked closely with him and his colleagues to promote the industry and actively engage with government on the issues we face. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the GGF and working to change the face of the industry for the better.
Following Ian’s announcement, I decided it was time for me to also stand down as Chair – Ultraframe is entering an exciting period of change and the implementation our new commercial strategy has meant that it has been increasingly difficult to spend as much time on GGF matters as I would have liked to.
I am pleased to announce that Shaun McAllister, Director of Anglian Conservatory, has taken over the position of Chair of the Conservatory Association and I wish him all the best in the role – I am confident that he will do us all proud”.
Also, I am sure everyone across the industry would like to join me as I wish Ian and his wife Sue all the best for a happy retirement.
