Leading conservatory manufacturer Ultraframe has sponsored one of the biggest sporting events in Lancashires history. Ultraframe was the headline sponsor of The Ultraframe Clitheroe Cycling Grand Prix.
The Grand Prix which is part of the Elite Riders National Championships brought together an international field of top athletes, including World cycling champion and double Olympic medallist Rob Hayles, to race at full speed around 60 laps of Clitheroe town centre.
Ultraframe worked closely with Ribble Valley Borough Council and British Cycling to ensure Clitheroes biggest ever sporting event was a storming success.
Ultraframes Managing Director, Vanda Murray OBE, said: Ultraframe has been manufacturing in Clitheroe for over twenty years and we are thrilled to have sponsored such an exciting and important event for the town. At Ultrafame, we are proud of our reputation for supporting the local community and this has been a particularly spectacular event for Clitheroe attracting top cyclists from all over the world and thousands of spectators.
Staff at Ultraframe were encouraged to get involved in the event and rewarded for their hard work at the company with a prize draw to win six sets of VIP tickets to watch the Grand Prix. The top prize was won by one of Ultraframes receptionists, Michelle Craig, who also had the chance to start the race which featured 120 cyclists.
Ribble Valley Councils Engineering Manager, Graham Jagger, who masterminded the event, said: Clitheroe was one of only ten national venues chosen to host a Cycling Grand Prix and it has been a real coup for the area. The support from local companies, especially our main sponsor Ultraframe, has been invaluable to hosting this sporting spectacular.
