School builds for the future

Torriano Infants School in North West London has more room to grow, since the installation of its new glass walkway. The £¾million extension, installed by Higgins City Contractors and supplied by Travis Perkins in Stoke Newington was completed in just 22 weeks using Ultraframe Ultralite 500.

The use of Ultralite 500, whilst primarily used in domestic applications and especially suited to bungalows, has many commercial applications and was particularly effective in this setting because at 2.5 degrees it has the lowest pitch attainable in a practical on site situation.

The fitter friendly roofing system features effective and controllable patented ventilation along the complete length of the wall plate that prevents the build up of warm stale air. A four metre free span can be achieved before additional purlin support is needed and its BBA accreditation gives it a life expectancy of at least 25 years.

This was the first time Ultralite 500 was used by Higgins and supplied by this branch of Travis Perkins – both companies being impressed with the product and service provided by manufacturer Ultraframe. Ultralite 500 is now available from Travis Perkins branches throughout the country
